Started boot camp on May 15th, 2012. Made it through boot camp as an AROC/Section Leader made my RDCs proud. Got put on hold due to having a low hearing score (still passed the Navy standards). Got placed on hold for about half a year due to having Air Crew as my job and wanting to do Air Rescue. Specialist said I needed tubes in my ears and Navy didn't want to pay/wait for it. Medically separated within a year of being in. Fucked by the Navy.

They have 10 counts now. I was there about four months ago, and Battlestations 21 is only like 13 hours. Unless they had changed it to 24 now which i doubt. Easy as hell though. Just do what you're told and be squared away. I went from E-1 to E-3 in bootcamp.

I was in boot camp 17 years ago, so things probably have changed, but I remember going in the water once or twice.
Most of the jobs don't actually have you going into the water, so the real requirement is that you're not going to drown if you ever have to go overboard or do so accidentally.
They had us drop into the water from a decent height, made sure we could tread water, and then swim to the side of the pool. If you can't do that you do get extra pool time and training before you graduate.

Boot camp was a joke. I heard that they even took 8 counts away. The hardest thing about battle stations was staying awake.

Scuttlebutt is actually the BS'ing about whats going on. Someone might ask you "What's the scuttlebutt" when they want info about something. Scuttlebutt is Not the water fountain. It's the talk you do while gathering at the fountain!
