The US is going to provide anti-tank weapons to Ukraine, a senior State Department official said. The State Department officially announced Friday evening that the US was going to provide Ukraine with “enhanced defensive capabilities as part of our effort to help Ukraine build its long-term defense capacity, to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to deter further aggression.” The State Department said the “US assistance is entirely defensive in nature, and as we have always said, Ukraine is a sovereign country and has a right to defend itself.” Members of Congress and the US-backed Ukrainian government had long requested anti-tank weapons to boost Kiev in its fight against Russian-backed separatists. This is another development from the US that Russia is expected to criticize. Experts think that Russia could use this move as a pretext to take further action in Ukraine, after its invasion and annexation of the Crimea region in 2014.

Just meeting our signed obligations to the nation of Ukraine in giving support to the defense of her sovereign territorial borders. Should have been done 3 years ago but I guess the Obamanation Administration was too busy facilitating Hezbollah drug shipments to pay for their war against Israel and clear a legacy chip with Iranian nuclear bad deal.

Oh boy! More wars, more waste of blood and treasure. There is a bipartisan consensus to carry on with a failed foreign policy of interventions. Do they really think that Russians will not respond elsewhere? 5.6 trillion wasted on stupid wars and coups that never went right. We are 20 trillion in debt and there is no end in sight. No accountability for endless failures and wasting of trillions whatsoever.
