I posed that same question on a liberal friend on election night, Bush v Gore. She was touting the creation of this big government, I simply asked if she would be happy if someone else that she didn't approve of got possession of the controls of that huge juggernaut what would she do? Bush wins, she stops talking to me. I wonder why.

What is so heartbreaking is that so many Americans are quietly going along with this.  Just as Millions of Germans went along with the Nazis and Millions of Iraqis went along with Saddam.  Dictators seem to be fine as long as it's YOUR GUY who's the dictator.  Sad to see that America has become no better than the rest of the despotic world and Americans seem more than willing to turn on their own, something I thought I would never see.

Bring it on!  All we need are a few courageous people.  Those of us who let bullies direct our lives, need to "quit ourselves like men".

Our tax code is a shambles.  Simplifying the method of levying taxes to a simple flat tax would be preferable to me. (I'm more a fan of the FairTax myself, but a reformation of the income tax would be welcome anyway)

“Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.” Thomas Jefferson

“I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.” James Madison

"I am not here as a serf or vassal. I am not begging my lords for mercy. I'm a born free American woman, wife, mother and citizen. And I'm telling my government that you've forgotten your place. It's not your responsibility to look out for my well-being, and to monitor my speech. It's not your right to assert an agenda. Your post, the post that you occupy, exists to preserve American liberty. You've sworn to perform that duty. And you have faltered." Becky Gerritson
(Testimony given on June 5, 2013 before the US Congress investigating this obvious, despotic and illegal violation of the Constitution of the United States of America.)

"when the people fear the government there's tyranny"
but my concern is that its easy for the government to make fear when it's too big.
That is, when the govt is small, the people have the upper hand and the govt fears, them.
When "big brother" gets too big and powerful, it has the upper hand and makes the people fear

I hate when we all tiptoe around calling this fascist president just what he is, and what he is obviously trying to do to his opposition on the right. Lets call it what it is, and not be so careful about how we phrase it to appease the left. Obama and his hit squad are the most corrupt administration this country has ever seen and if this was  already a 3rd world nation, the people would be laying down their lives to fight against this lying, self serving, robbing White House!

Coincidentaly Chrome (the google browser) is throwing tantrums . When I found out it was not only me I did some snooping of my own and the Google guys are ignoring their own features like "incognito" and whipping out traces and instead are adding whats called a "querystring" to the URL of the site you're going to . A querystring is just a way of passing data from a client to a server. The querystring is encoded ( 255 bits) and it is being sent SOMEPLACE . Boys and girls we ARE smack in the middle of a military junta. Pehaps because I sent a question to the white house asking why Obama chose "FORWARD" as his campaign slogan, knowing damn well it is the defacto communist war cry?

"I want to be king so I can tell the rich man and the general what to do." – Barry Saotoro (Dreams of my Fathers)

I may have the quote wrong, but if his autobiography is any indication, we never should've voted this guy in.

It's all about freedom of association. Libs are cultists and want YOU to approve of all of their cult activities even though you may not want to associate with them at all because they're a destructive hate cult. Of course as cultists they call it love. They want to love you to death in death camps.

The armed forces is the end stop gap of tyranny but with how it's being hollowed out with incompetents at the highest level that are simply yes men for the president I question whether the oath they take is meaningless today.

Brace yourselves folks. It's going to get worse. Much worse. We're nowhere near the bottom yet. The one good thing about this President, we as a nation are going to collectively gain some wisdom before he's through. It's going to be an expensive education.

It is impossible that a centralized government would remain in the confines of a written constitution. It's not reasonable to believe they would. Once power is given and a constitution legitimizes a central government then that government will always seek to grow and will find ways to do so regardless of the limits placed on it. I'm not saying I like it. I'm just saying that the constitutional experiment has failed and we have to try something else… something more free. Of course the constitution didn't fail. It's just a piece of paper, after all. And of course the people failed. Failure is what people tend to do, especially when tempted by power.

The nice thing about a Republican majority is Republicans find themselves under a microscope and every crime no matter how small becomes the focus of the news media and the subject of great protest. When we have a Democrat majority criminal activity becomes standard practice, the crimes committed are very serious and the news media doesn't sound a peep, nor is there the slightest protest.

What disturbs me the most is when the president blatantly and brazenly said that he would go around congress to get what he wants, and congress gave him a standing ovation! They are the problem! Last time i checked, the legislative branch was supposed to represent the will of the people and the president said he would bypass the people to forward his agenda. How is this guy NOT a tyrant!?

Bill's summed it up correctly at the end.
No magical set of laws will keep people safe. VOTERS have to be vigilant about their rights and the actions of those in charge of protecting them.
Simply throwing some money at a superpac once every 4 years doesn't cut it.

Just maybe the Republicans are going about this wrong.  There was one guy that said DO IT !! to Barry's I have a pen and a phone remark and he will go around congress  with that pen and phone. The Republicans should have all jumped up and started clapping and cheering  DO IT DO IT DO IT !!!!!  And when he goes against the constitution, they should put all efforts on to impeach the tyrant and chief !!!  Maybe we could get the republicans to all just wear Nike pins. DO IT DO IT !!!
